Want to feel unshakably steady and wildly successful in your relationships & sexuality coaching practice?

Fierce confidence and wild success begins with trusting yourself.

And trusting yourself is made so much easier with caring honest somatic reflection and support from peers and mentors. We can't do this alone and we don't need to.

This is not yet another training. This deep dive 6-month journey is like no other - it will help you integrate all those other trainings and experiences you’ve had, so you can deepen into the strengths you already have.  It’s highly trauma aware and educational, inclusive, culturally sensitive and sex positive.

Imagine increasing your nervous system’s capacity for deep regulation and stability so that you can breathe more fully in sessions, navigate through storms and bumpy terrain with grace and sit tall in your chair feeling expansive, present and guided so that you can be out of your own way and fully of service to those receiving care and support from you.  Leaving your sessions feeling proud, aligned and on fire. That’s my wish for you in this experience.

People are taking training after training instead of integrating what they already know.  I highly recommend only taking trainings if it’s a yes out of inspiration instead of trying to fill some “not enough” story.

It’s SO EASY to get sucked into thinking “I need to know more - once I have more training I’ll have what I need” or “once I have more client hours booked I’ll feel successful” or to see all these other shiny coaches advertising on social media and feel like you’re not good enough or not doing enough. It’s daunting. Especially when you care so deeply about your clients and the work you do, but you’re already noticing you’re feeling depleted yet another part of you knows you’ve got this - just not sure the path towards FULLY embodying your gifts and purpose as a coach.  Doubt and confusion can creep in when we’re not fully resourced and present in our bodies. That’s where our deepest wisdom lies and where we have access to our full power and aliveness. If you’re not feeling connected inside, you might be:

  • Telling yourself you’re not cut out for this work.

  • Feeling defeated, depleted,  irritated or helpless during sessions (learn to see this for what it is: GOLD. Super useful information to help your client - it’s likely not (entirely) about you).

  • Not seeing the power in your uniqueness.

  • Struggling to charge what your work is worth - especially if you’re pressuring yourself to deliver perfect, transformational experiences to every client in every session.

  • Having clients cancel often, or not be completely committed, and finding yourself either not caring or feeling like a victim to it.

  • Getting confused about what’s happening between you and your client and continually having tension and confusion between you.

  • Feeling challenged with your own energy levels in sessions with clients.

  • Checking the clock repeatedly and often in sessions.

  • Spreading your energy thin between your coaching practice and other side jobs.

  • Knowing that you have excellent training but not sure how to intuitively weave that wisdom and expertise through your sessions.

gettinf-stuck.jpg

Yep. Getting sucked into a comparison mindset or ‘not enough’ thinking is super easy. Especially when you’re out there on your own.

We often have such a beautiful sense of belonging while we’re learning our craft, supported by our peers in a learning environment, honing our skills while supporting each other to grow as professionals and as people… and then we receive our certification, we’re working with clients, and… we’re out in the world on our own.

It can get lonely out here. You care so deeply about your clients and the work you do, but you’re having a hard time staying connected to that original fire and intention for this work in a sustainable way - it comes and goes like a bit of a rollercoaster. And it’s hard sometimes, knowing where to focus, to create a practice that’s sustainable - financially but also energetically. When we have limited resources (energetically, financially, etc.), where does the confidence come from? How does this work start feeling fun? How do we dance in our integrity, caring for ourselves and caring for our clients? How do we give ourselves what we need?

A circle of support is how the best become the best.

Sister_Love-334.jpg

It’s TIME.

It’s time to widen your circle of support.  You don’t have to do this on your own. Time to let yourself receive and be seen by others on a similar path; time to have that sense of belonging again, it’s time to feel re-ignited about the work you’re doing and to let that nourish you consistently.

AND, it’s time to do this in community with other professionals, celebrating and encouraging the heck out of each other.

Because this work doesn’t have to be hard.  Life is hard enough as it is. Work can enliven and feed us when we do it from a place of feeling internally and externally resourced.

Coaching is a practice.  there is no endpoint. there is no way to do it perfectly.  we show up just as we would with any other practice with a sense of presence, curiosity and community, and from there - we learn what needs our attention, what needs tending to on any given day.

Stocksy_txpb7723116T0S200_Medium_2551999.jpg

For me, it wasn’t until I surrendered into not doing it alone that I finally learned how to embrace all my doubts and insecurities, which created an empowerment.  I was required to be in individual supervision and group supervision for nearly 6 years to receive my license to practice and while I was showing up in the beginning, I was still doing it alone because I was terrified to let people see me as anything less than an expert.

Something shifted for me a few years in when I found myself getting sick, tired and losing my confidence in sessions.  With support, I realized that I had to allow myself to be vulnerable - to allow my peers to see me and help me navigate the places where I was getting stuck with my clients and with myself.  When I showed up to supervision willing to put down my ‘know it all’ hat (for fear of being found out if I wasn’t perfect at what I was doing) and ask myself ‘what can I learn here?’ - everything changed.  EVERYTHING.

unconditional-love.jpg

Once I gained this powerful new perspective and way of relating to my circle of support, I was able to fluidly pull from the toolbox I already had, and intuitively weave together solutions for my clients with grace and ease.  I was also able to shift my mentality from scarcity to trusting in abundance on so many levels. I saw my peers as incredible practitioners I wanted to support and celebrate instead of as “less than” or “better than”. Instead of being dismissive or putting people on pedestals with my comparing mind, I became curious and interested and started noticing the ways each person offers something unique and beautiful and that we’re all genuinely moving towards the same goal - helping to relieve suffering in the world.  I felt proud of myself and my colleagues. And… there was a shift in how my nervous system could take in the support. I became both receptive and able to offer my insights and care without a lot of noise in my head. It became nourishing and regulating.

And THIS is what I intend to support you to do in your own practice. To help you get out of your own way and sink into yourself and your work with ease and inspiration.  To have genuine connection with others and bringing that trust in connection to sessions with clients.

You don’t have to do this alone. There is plenty of support here for you.  After all - we are stronger together. And this world NEEDS us and the gifts we each bring.  NOW.

It’s for you that I created this mastermind experience.

Therapists & doctors have ongoing professional development & supervision. Why shouldn’t coaches support themselves like this too? What a beautiful thing to invest in.

alt1 (7a).png

You don’t need advice. You don’t need to be told what to do. And honestly - that’s what a lot of supervision groups provide. This one is different.

It’s different because I’m not teaching you something you don’t already know.  Your body has all of the wisdom and all of the answers. Attuning to each of our own bodies and nervous systems - our somatic experiences - gives us the ability to tap into a type of connection and presence that can carry us through any experience with an incredible sense of knowing and confidence.

This somatically-based (mind-body) way of connecting with ourselves and each other has become the most highly regarded and cutting edge experience that experts in the field of neurobiology, trauma, attachment, healing and growth are finding.  And as a relationship coach or sex coach or love coach… these are all part of what your clients might be coming in with as part of their histories.

Instead of just downloading you a bunch of tools and talking about clients and personal stories, we use a unique format and group agreements so that as we’re exploring these areas that arise in your coaching, we are regulating together (co-regulating) in a way that informs our somatic experience to be able to truly get underneath what’s really happening inside of you or between you and your clients (or for your clients).  The body gives us so much information - really everything - through learning to be present in this way, you will be able to bring this into your sessions with a clarity and sense of support that you’ve only dreamed of.

Women_Collective_Mindfulness-172.jpg

Through somatic resonance and reflection, we bring body based trauma awareness into our work that feels so much easier and more simple than so many of us have thought possible.  When we feel capable of recognizing trauma as it arises in our sessions and being with it in a way that’s relaxed, caring and unwavering (no need to muscle through!), it creates so much space for our clients to be met in places that can bring incredible healing and shifts.

Because let’s be real… even if your focus isn’t trauma… if you’re working in the field of love, sex & relationships… it’s there.  And I want to make sure you’re feeling able to be present and skilled with it and with so much else that you encounter. To know how to be with it, to know when to refer out and no matter what… to feel clear and confident as you are with it all.

This work doesn’t have to be hard. Pleasure is the medicine.

A foundation of this mastermind is pleasure. Yep, you read that right - this work doesn’t have to be hard. Coaches, therapists and support people can get burned out so fast - they’re getting a lot of noise in their bodies from interacting with their clients from an unintegrated place.

And so it’s SO important to explore how we bring more aliveness, more sensuality, more expansiveness, more connection to the divine or whatever it is for you, to support a sustainable and ongoing deepening experience of being a coach.

Because feeling connected to GOODNESS is the key to building a sustainable practice as a coach. To knowing where our full yesses are and our full no’s and to have full permission and unwavering confidence to follow them. Our bodies are communicating to us all of the time and learning how to listen deeply gives us access to infinite wisdom and possibility.  This gives us more capacity, more energy and grows roots of trust within ourselves when we can be with ourselves in such an honoring way.

What do I mean when I talk about pleasure?

Stocksy_txpb7723116T0S200_Medium_1490394.jpg

Incorporating pleasure practices in our lives and in our work is a huge part of building confidence.  And pleasure sometimes does take practice, given many of us live in cultures that are so focused on what’s wrong, on what’s not enough or cultural messages that only correlate pleasure with sex.

Part of growing resilience (in our clients and in ourselves), is expanding our connection to pleasure in a way that works for our unique nervous system.  We all want to feel GOOD. And yet, sometimes, it’s SO HARD to let the goodness in. To experience pleasure in our lives.

In order for us to fully receive our clients, we have to be able to be present as they’re sharing and exploring.  This is where resilience is key.

Pleasure practices, when done in a way that works for your own nervous system can help increase resilience and this expands a depth of capacity to be able to go through any experience in life with a sense of inner connection, tapped into our radiance, to be touched by the experiences without being knocked off our center. (And you can share these practices with your clients for their increased resilience!).

And, think about it... if we're cutting ourselves off from our access to pleasure, we're cutting ourselves off from parts of our bodies. Being fully present is about being fully embodied. We have access in our whole body to pleasure, energy and aliveness - when we tap into this... we have an unending source of power for our coaching practices and our presence.

hipster-869222_1920+%281%29.jpg

And so it’s SO important to include pleasure in an open and non-shaming way with clients… because they come to us wanting to feel better. Let’s be unashamedly unapologetic in how we bring pleasure into our practices and lives, in how we model this for clients. This mastermind is a sacred space to consult about these topics between colleagues.

This way we’re also walking our talk.

Pleasure practices can be sensual, they can be sexy, or not sexy at all.  They can be anything you intend them to be. They can be simple or elaborate.  If you’re offering them to your clients, they have to be tailored to their own needs and comfort levels and we’ll bring this in for you so you get to work with your own nervous system and experiment with options and choices for what serves your regulation on the most nourishing level.

Commitment to diversity & inclusion

Stocksy_txpb7723116T0S200_Medium_364840.jpg

Our commitment to inclusion across race, age, religion, identity, ability and experience fuels this experience. While we LOVE and celebrate folks of all genders, this is a training for female-identified and non-binary identified folks. To be engaged, participants must feel included and valued. We strive to build and nurture a culture where inclusiveness is highly valued and seamless. Where there is a deep sense of pride, passion and belonging for every single person. We know through experience that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger and more creative environment that delivers better learning, healing, growth and connection. To support an inclusive environment where participants feel empowered to share their experiences and ideas, we ask that everyone who shows up is also committed to this vision.

Part of what we’ll navigate in Embodied Coaching Mastery is broadening our collective awareness of issues of clients in marginalized populations or populations different than our own and learning about how to offer mindful, aware and skilled coaching folks of different backgrounds than our own. You will learn to gage your own capacity to know if you are the best fit for a particular client or if someone else might be even more supportive. This mastermind offers education, practices and group processes around waking up to your own internal processes around diversity and inclusion so that you can show up more fully and with clarity.

Shelby is utterly present during sessions and a true master at what she does. She cares deeply for her clients, and it shows. As a result of working with her, I've been able to move forward in situations where I've previously felt stuck, and experienced the huge relief and permission to not have to be perfect! I've experienced a deep, profound connection to myself, in Shelby's presence. If you have a chance to work with Shelby, I highly, highly recommend it. Thank you Shelby, for being such a loving, gifted, dedicated and passionate practitioner.

WHO AM I?

DSC01927.jpg

I’m Shelby Leigh, and I’m so glad you’re here.

My vision for coaches and the coaching industry is for high integrity and exceptional skill - especially an orientation towards sinking in to a somatic foundation and body awareness and true presence.  Coaches guiding their clients from a steady and informed place, leaning into connection with their own regulated nervous systems.

My vision is for trauma awareness to be something that everyone has access to and implements with grace so that every person who is being supported feels able to bring their most vulnerable places in service of their highest growth.

I am devoted to coaches having awareness of a wide range of diversity and understanding their impact when they’re working with clients who bring different experiences than their own.

I am excited about coaches being supported by their colleagues and peers and celebrated in what they’re offering and the work they’re putting out there in the world - together we are stronger and more skilled and can maintain a strong sense of confidence in the ways we’re supporting those who need us the most.

I am passionate about supporting coaches to drop into their depth… the depth that lives far beyond that shiny marketing and will draw clients to them through modeling in their bodies, hearts and minds what is truly possible in terms of healing and growth.

It starts with us… with our own nervous systems and connection to our resources inside and out

averie-woodard-111832.jpg

I hold this vision because I have walked in the coaching world and the therapy world for many years and there is such a strange and unfortunate projection that each has of the other.  What I have found is that in both fields there are exceptional practitioners and there are not so exceptional practitioners.

It doesn’t matter what we call ourselves, it matters how we hold ourselves and our clients.  It matters that we work within our scope of practice and know what that means. It matters that we step into our unique gift or offering and KNOW that it helps - that it meets someone where they are on their journey and offers something that clicks another puzzle piece into their healing and growth adventure.

We can’t do it alone… we do it as a team of many.  And when we embrace our own trainings whole-heartedly and integrate the pieces we’ve learned with confidence… we can be of beautiful support to many that come our way.

This mastermind offers integration.

Through years of putting into practice the many things I’ve trained in, I’ve come to appreciate integration and regard it very highly.  Integrating all that we know and learning how to embody what we’ve learned takes our work to the next level. In this process sitting in a circle of support with others on a similar journey creates a reflection where we can rise and grow even more fully into our radiance, our confidence and our knowing.  It also reflects to us where our edges are and lovingly invites us to explore them with a sense of care all around us.

adult-afro-beautiful-1764564.jpg

So instead of filling you up with more trainings, this mastermind sinks you into what you already know and helps you embody it in every cell of your body.  It helps you build an even stronger foundation for yourself to sit in and work from so that you can be FULLY present with your clients, guided by the work that you’ve already trained in.

Yes, there will be new information that will support you to grow this foundation but it really supports what you already know and offers a strong container from which to sink even more fully into your own incredible capacity..

In over 15 years combined experience as a Somatic Psychotherapist, a Sex, Love and Relationship Coach, an NLP coach, a mindfulness facilitator, a breathwork facilitator and massage therapist, and also a river guide (you’d be surprised at how much this taught me about presence and helping myself and other humans navigate tricky waters) - I have gotten an incredible opportunity to experiment with what works and what doesn’t.  With what connects us and what fills us with doubt and exhaustion.

I spent the first many years working with people filled with doubt, filled with thoughts instead of presence and just hoping my clients wouldn’t find out I was a fake.  I knew I had so much to offer but it was clouded by old imprints of not enough and doubting anything good that ever came to me. In my perfectionist state, I was able to help but not nearly as much as I do now.  Through coming into my body and learning how to regulate my nervous system through connection with myself and others I have found that work is energizing, enlivening, connecting and presencing.

I leave sessions in tears of gratitude often, trusting that I am in the right place doing exactly what I’m meant to be doing.  I want that for you too.

TESTIMONIALS

ninanew.png

I’ve had the privilege of working with Shelby during my preparation as a coach in sex, love and relationships. She is an amazing space holder that has helped me embrace my insecurities. During my work with her, she helped me accept parts of me that have been unacceptable for so many years.

I have huge insecurities around my body and the way I look, but after working with her I could finally understand that all those fears are based on ideas I have been carrying around due to trauma. She helped me realize how beautiful and loved I am by those around me. She helped me get in contact with a sense of belonging and love that I wasn’t able to feel before.

Her knowledge around trauma blows my mind. I feel so honored of having a chance to work with her since she has helped me so much in my growth and development. I am a better, more connected person thanks to her.

I loved your coaching development calls, the trauma workshops, and then getting to see you work in person with a student one day at the retreat. I’ve been blown away by your work and especially by the compassionate, wise presence you’ve cultivated inside yourself and that you bring forward into the world.

Your trauma workshops changed my life in such a huge way! Understanding the window of tolerance and nervous system and how to work with it was a huge piece for me that has helped me profoundly, I’m so grateful for what you created and offered! I know it would be a blessing for anyone like it was for me to receive your high-quality teaching and transmission.

She taught me how to  watch the 'internal mind chatter' that goes on inside the mind when someone else is speaking. I've heard this before but didn't fully understand the extent to which it affected my ability to show up and truly listen to someone until she explained it.  Having coached thousands of people, I consider myself a seasoned listener.

She encouraged listening to someone with a clear mind, giving them your full attention. Trusting in yourself that you will retain what's important and trusting that your response will be what it needs to be in the moment. This was a stretch outside my comfort zone for me as the nature of my job involves a lot of documentation.  I now have more confidence in my memory. My customer satisfaction has improved. I'm able to listen to family and loved ones from a clearer and more open space. I find that I'm able to now better able to see the big picture of what people are saying because I'm not getting hung up on something they said prior to their actual point.

I highly recommend working with Shelby in any capacity. For me, a reason her teaching was so impactful is that she truly embodies what she teaches and the transmission is palpable. She makes you want to learn more in the best way possible.

FAQ

What’s the time commitment?

Around 12-15 hours per month, depending on how deep you go with your own personal practice. On the weeks we meet, you can expect to spend:

  • 2 hours on live calls

  • 1 hour peer coaching (twice a month)

  • 15-30 minutes watching the weekly video

  • 30 minutes a few days each week creating sacred time for your own internal deep dive and practices.

  • Occasional additional reading

What happens on the live interactive calls?

This is a place to share extensive client information (while keeping their identities 100% confidential) and get feedback from Shelby and your colleagues around what’s happening in your sessions.  We follow a structured somatic way of offering and receiving constructive feedback and get curious together about how you can navigate and understand what’s happening in your sessions for you, for your client and in the field in between the two of you.

How will the calls be structured?

Calls will be structured similarly every time. We’ll start ON TIME and end ON TIME. We’ll begin with a brief practice. Everyone will have the opportunity to offer a brief update on what’s present for them in their coaching experience, and we’ll have time for a handful of people to ask for feedback on client questions, general coaching questions and any personal coaching issues arising.

If everyone doesn’t get their questions addressed each live call, will there be enough time for me?

One of the beauties of group supervision is that we all learn from each other’s scenarios NO MATTER WHAT. Each case can offer wisdom for everyone’s coaching practice. There will be a lot of care taken to make sure EVERYONE gets plenty of airtime in a balanced way throughout the program.

How long are the live calls?

2 hours.

Do I have to be present for ALL the calls?

Yes. This is not only about your own support, but the support of your sisters as well. It’s important that you check in and make sure you’re FULLY committed to showing up for yourselves and each other. The more everyone shows up, the more rich the experience is with all of our collective wisdom and encouragement. However, if there’s an emergency or serious illness, an absence is acceptable, but there’s no possibility of making up the missed call.

Do I have to be present for my peer calls and FB group?

Yes. This is a CIRCLE of support. Designed to maximize your effectiveness as a coach. The more you put in, the more you get out, and so do your peers. It’s this continued new paradigm where we’re here to lift each other up as powerful coaches in the world, and truly support and care for each other as we help each other grow and heal and be the best we can be. Additionally, this will embed the habit of regularly reaching out to trusted colleagues to consult about your work - this is the support that many high-level coaches commit to regularly, to help them grow and stay resourced and clear. It’s also a beautiful place to be able to be vulnerable and not have to hold it together as a professional. It’s a place for you to be held, too, and to have an ally to celebrate with and be in challenging moments with.

What happens in the individual supervision calls?

Individual supervision calls with Shelby are personally tailored sessions authentic to you and what your edge is in coaching. If you choose, you can share audio or video parts of your coaching sessions (with your clients permission), and I can offer constructive feedback on your questions. We can workshop and address any places where you feel stuck, or have intense internal experiences around when you are working with clients in general, or one particular client. It’s a space for you to be vulnerable and held in a supportive and encouraging way, with honest reflection and insight to what you might like to happen next in your coaching or coaching relationships.

Will the calls be recorded?

They will! They’ll be uploaded to your course site so you can re-visit them anytime.

I’m a new coach, and I’m still mostly coaching practice clients. Do I need to be working with ‘real’ clients?

Coaching practice clients or paying clients are just fine. As long as you’re working with at least two clients and plan on continuing to do so throughout the program. You’ll gain support in deepening your confidence and skill, and learn from the other coaches in the group.

Is there a guarantee?

30-day money back guarantee.  We’re so confident in the power of this program that we will refund your investment if you are not satisfied within 30 days of the start of the program.  You must have attended all calls and completed all practices to be eligible for a refund.

What kind of practices will we be doing?

Body-based practices that help you integrate and embody the themes of each week.  These practices are intended to foster a deep sense of listening and connection both internally and externally.  Practices vary - they span from energetic to very subtle - and both at the same time. Some are movement based, some are sitting, others are lying down and some will definitely be dancing like a silly person.  Shelby’s background is in mindfulness, breathwork, tantra, qi gong, dance, somatic resonance and co-regulation, and offers practices from that foundation. You will also get to learn some practices from others in the group as an extra special bonus.  All practices you will be supported to honor your own body and what it wants in each moment.
